Mark and I got a sneak peek of our little baby today in my ultrasound, and it was amazing to see those little legs and arms and heart and face... We were so grateful to see a healthy, growing baby. This morning Grant prayed, "Please bless Mom's baby's heart to still be beeping and bless Mom's baby to be healthy." I felt so relieved and happy to see this little person and know that so far things are going just as well as they can. Thank you all so much for your prayers.
We picked up Grant from preschool and checked the older kids out of school for a happy surprise...
Eliza had told me weeks ago that she wished "we could do that same balloon thing that Aubrey did to tell if it's a boy or a girl," so we decided to go ahead and make her wish come true. I feel like my kids have really been through a lot as we've tried to get a baby to come to our family, so if balloons will make them happy, it's balloons they'll get. :) Thanks for the fun idea, Aubrey!
As you can see, there were lots of cheers and smiles and happy kids running around. I was hoping Eliza wouldn't be disappointed about not getting a sister, but right after she saw the balloons she said, "A sister would have been fun, but I'm happy because I really like baby boys too!" I guess when we've all wanted a baby for so long there's not much room left for anything but gratitude. Hooray for a baby boy this spring!
And just because there's nothing more fun than a great big box...
